RULES

​

Eligibility:

• The contest is open to middle school and high school students from OSEA member schools only.

• Each participant may submit one entry, and submissions must be made through the school’s esports coach.

Contest Details:

• Students may shoutcast any game, but preference will be given to games offered by OSEA for competition: Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Fortnite, and Valorant.

• Submit a video recording of your shoutcasting performance. The video must be between 2 to 5 minutes in length, and no part of the student’s likeness (including face or voice) should appear in the video.

 

Video Submission Guidelines:

• Videos must be of good quality (at least 720p resolution) and in one of the following file formats: .avi, .mp4, or .webm.

• Submissions should focus on the quality of the commentary, the enthusiasm of the shoutcaster, and knowledge of the game.

• Entries must be submitted through the OSEA website by 11:59 PM EST on Friday, April 4th, 2025.

 

Judging Criteria:

• Entries will be judged on the following criteria:

  1. Commentary Quality: How clear, informative, and engaging is the shoutcasting?

  2. Enthusiasm: How well does the shoutcaster convey excitement and energy during the broadcast?

  3. Game Knowledge: How well does the shoutcaster understand and explain the game being played?

• Judges: A panel of OSEA team members will evaluate and score the submissions.

 

Prizes:

• Grand Prize: The winner will receive a broadcasting package for their school, including microphones and headsets, along with a $100 gift card.

• The grand prize winner will be announced on May 9th, 2025, via the OSEA website.

Privacy Guidelines:

• Student Information Protection: All personal information collected from participants will be kept confidential and used solely for the purpose of administering the contest. No student names, likenesses, or other identifying information will be shared publicly without prior consent.

• Data Retention: Personal data submitted with contest entries will be securely stored and deleted within one week after the contest concludes and winners are announced.

• Public Use of Submissions: By submitting an entry, participants agree to allow OSEA to use their video submissions for promotional purposes related to OSEA, such as on the OSEA website or social media, with no personal identifying information attached.

• No External Sharing: OSEA will not share or sell any participant data with third parties for any purposes outside of the administration of this contest.
